Pastor’s Column

This Sunday is Hope Appeal Commitment Sunday in our parish. It is an opportunity for us to support Bishop Lucia and the many programs that are supported by the Annual Hope Appeal. We will be showing the Hope Appeal Video this weekend that shows just a few of the programs that are funded by this important Diocesan Appeal. I would like to encourage everyone to be generous and to prayerfully consider making a gift to this year’s Hope Appeal. I know that you will be happy that you did.

This Sunday’s Gospel Reading speaks to us about the mercy and forgiveness of our God. It does not make sense that God should be so much in love with us! God is always ready to forgive us of our sins and even goes out and searches for us when we are lost and wandering away from Him. Jesus gives the wonderful healing sacrament of Confession to celebrate God’s forgiveness in our lives. When was the last time you met our Lord Jesus in this healing sacrament? Maybe our Lord might be calling you to encounter His loving presence in this special sacrament.

Beginning this week I will be having Mass on Monday evenings for our Parish Community. Please check the bulletin for the times of these Masses. I will also be available for the Sacrament of Confession after the Mass on Monday evening.

HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!!
