Pastor’s Column – January 1, 2023
In the glow and joy of the Christmas season, we celebrate the Feast of the Solemnity of Mary, the Mother of God. How appropriate that we begin the New Year reflecting upon the life of Mary. Mary is an excellent example for us in following our Lord Jesus. Mary was open to God’s will every moment of her life and lived her entire life in response to God’s call. We all are called to be Christ bearers like Mary was and to bring Him to a dark and challenging world. Mary teaches us to be people of prayer and challenges us to find God present in the ordinary events of our lives. As we begin a new year and make our resolutions, let us resolve to allow God to be a bigger part of our lives. May we trust in His plans for us and allow His Word to be born in our hearts this Christmas season!
Happy New Year!
