The reason for the existence of the Holy Spirit has long been a question mark in my mind. I am aware of God the Father as creator of all things. I am aware that Jesus was sent down to us to take away the sin of Adam and Eve by dying on the cross and also to teach us that our God is a loving God. The New Testament of the Bible includes all the teaching of Jesus that we are to follow.

So what then is the reason for the third person of the Holy Trinity, the Holy Spirit? The purpose of the Holy Spirit is to take all the teachings of Jesus and all His blessings and apply them to our human heart so that we own them and they become ours. The Holy Spirit comes to our rescue when we are scared, totally discouraged and in need of help and encouragement. The Spirit comes to our rescue and fills our heart with joy and gratitude towards God. When we realize that God has given us help and encouragement, given us priceless blessings, our hearts are filled with joy and gratitude toward God and we cry out, “Dear God I will love thee sincerely, and willingly, do what is pleasing to thee.”

The Holy Spirit has translated the written words in the New Testament of the Bible in such a way that your heart and humanness can now fully understand the meaning of, and love the teachings of Jesus. Now we are ready to spread the Good News of the Gospel.

Thanks be to God.
