Living the Gospel – February 7, 2021

In the Sundays following the Epiphany and leading up to the season of Lent, we see Jesus begin his ministry of speaking the good news about the kingdom of heaven and healing the people who are gathered to hear Him speak. Jesus is also gathering those who will become His apostles both male and female saying to them, come follow me. We as a people on Earth seem to be happier and more energetic in the seasons where we have more sunlight. And now as we see the days getting longer, it is almost like waking up from a long sleep.

Let us realize that Jesus is the light of the world and we feel more energized to follow Him. This is a time for us to evaluate our relationship with God and our brothers and sisters, and make a commitment to improve ourselves. It is a time to read our Bibles. It is a time to say the rosary. It is a time to pray to God, asking for help in becoming better followers of Christ. Jesus says to us, “Come follow Me.” Thanks be to God.
