Pastorโ€™s Column – March 19, 2023

This weekendโ€™s Readings from Sacred Scripture speak to us about vision and eyesight. To have a โ€œheavenlyโ€ vision is to be able to see things as God sees them and not as we do. Many times, when I am upset with someone, I ask God to help me to see the person I am upset with through Godโ€™s eyes. This always helps me to see them in a different light. To see them through Godโ€™s eyes is to see them through the eyes of love. It might be good for us to take some time this week and ask the Lord to see the person whom we have problems with through the eyes of our Loving God.

Next weekend Bishop Lucia will be visiting our parish families. He will be celebrating the Sacrament of Confirmation with the young people of our parish at St. Patrickโ€™s at our 8:30 AM Sunday Mass and then will celebrate Mass at St. Stephenโ€™s and Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Make your plans now to attend these special Masses with our bishop.

Next Monday, March 27th, there will be a Communal Penance Service at St. Stephenโ€™s Church in Marathon at 6:00 PM. Local priests will be there to celebrate this wonderful sacrament with the people of our parish. Make your plans now to attend this service and to prepare for Easter in a special way.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!
