Pastor’s Column
At our September Parish Council Meeting, there was a discussion about the Mass schedule for our St. Stephen/St. Patrick Parish family. I asked the question if we really need two Sunday Masses in our parish. It seems like the numbers do not warrant it. I asked the question of how we would be able to make sure that everyone had access to the Eucharist in the most efficient way. It was discussed that we have one Mass on Sunday morning at 8:30 AM. It would be held in Whitney Point from October thru April and in Marathon from May thru September. This proposal would ensure that both churches would be used.
Last Monday, our Parish Council voted to adopt the proposal made at last month’s meeting. It was proposed that the next step be a listening session to take place to hear the opinions of parishioners about the proposal. I would like to hold the Listening Session on Monday, October 17th, at St. Patrick Church Hall at 6:30 PM. This will be an opportunity for everyone to share their thoughts about the proposal. Please make your plans now to attend this important session.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
