Pastor’s Column – November 13, 2022

How often are we like the people in this weekend’s Gospel reading? How many times do we get caught up in the events of our world? How many of us have gotten caught up in Powerball fever this week? I have to admit I did buy a ticket. The News Media have been reporting almost at a frenzied pace about the midterm elections in our country. How many of us live and die by the success of our sports teams? All the things of this world are fine, but they cannot dominate our every thought. We are called to remember that this world will someday come to an end and that we all were created to be with God forever in heaven. May we take some time to adjust our thoughts and concerns about eternity, the things that really matter, God’s heavenly kingdom.
