Pastor’s Column – July 10, 2022

I would like to welcome Fr. Lester Smith to our Parish Community. Fr. Smith is a former pastor of St. Stephen’s and Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parishes. We are truly blessed to have him with us this weekend. It was truly great being with and meeting everyone last weekend. I am looking forward to getting to know everyone better and serving our parish as Jesus would.

In this weekend’s Gospel, Jesus tells us that we are to love the Lord our God and to love our neighbor as ourselves. He then goes on to tell us that our neighbor is anyone who is in need. We are all called to realize that our Catholic faith goes beyond our attendance at Sunday Mass and must affect the way we treat others in our daily lives. In the midst of a world of selfishness, we are called to put others first. Let us ask the Lord for the grace that we need to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. HAVE A GREAT WEEK.
