This weekend’s Readings from Sacred Scripture speaks to us about the difficulty of discipleship. Jeremiah was rejected by the leaders of his time and Jesus tells us about the division that will come because of the Gospel message. In the midst of life’s difficulties and hardships, our God is always with us to protect and deliver us from all danger. We are called to put our faith and trust in God’s unconditionally loving presence in our lives.
This Monday is a Holy Day in our Church. We will celebrate the Holy Day of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We will have a special Mass on Monday evening at 6:00 at St. Stephen’s in Marathon. I would like to invite all members of our St. Stephen-St. Patrick Parish Family to attend this special celebration. While we are not obligated to attend this Mass because it falls on a Monday, it still is important that we gather together to honor Mary, the Mother of God and to celebrate all that God did in her life. I hope to see everyone there at this special celebration.
Next weekend is our Parish Picnic. We will have one Mass next weekend at 11:00 am at St. Patrick’s Church in Whitney Point. We will then all go to Dorchester Park and have our parish picnic. It is a great opportunity for us to come together and to grow as a parish community. I look forward to being there with our parish family on that day.. Hope to see you all there!
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!
