Jesus said to His disciples, whoever loves me will keep my word and the Father will love him and we will come to him and make our dwelling with him. The Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name will teach you everything and remind you of all that I have told you. Thus we are introduced to the Holy Spirit. In the Old Testament of the Bible we learn about God the Father. In the New Testament, we learn about Jesus. But the third person of the Holy Trinity remains more of a mystery. We must realize that all people are created by God the Father and that we are body and soul. We have two natures, physical and spiritual. When God created Adam and Eve, he placed them in the beautiful Garden of Eden. But then they sinned against God and were expelled from the Garden. It wasn’t until Jesus died on the cross that this sin was removed from us and we became reconciled with God. So now the role of the Holy Spirit becomes more obvious. The Father is our creator, Jesus is our savior and Good Shepherd whose voice and teachings we follow and the Holy Spirit has the POWER to help us transition from a human existence to a more spiritual one. When we get tired and lazy, He fires us up with His POWER, and gives us the tools that we need to get up and keep following the voice of Jesus, the Good Shepherd. In 1 Corinthians 3 St Paul writes. “I could not talk to you as spiritual people but only as people of the flesh, infants of Christ. I fed you with milk and did not give you solid food because you were not ready for it. As long as there is jealousy and quarrels among you, you are still of the flesh.” We must keep in mind that we have to nurture our spiritual nature, which will live on in eternity. Let us pray to the Holy Spirit that He may keep encouraging us to follow Christ and remind us to become more aware of our spiritual nature and that nothing is impossible with God. We are all called to be a Holy and Loving people.

Thanks be to God
