From Our Pastor:

Brothers and Sisters:

Fall is upon us and cooler and more colorful scenes will bless our beautiful valley. The month of October is a wonderful month of available graces for all of us; especially through the generosity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

October is the month of the Rosary, prayers of meditation on the mysteries of the events in the life of Mary and her Son, Jesus. Through praying the Rosary, we journey with Mary living our place in Salvation history and strengthen our resistance to temptation and sin. It is a powerful weapon for us in cooperating with God’s graces and will for us. Carry the rosary with you always and pray it often! In addition, we celebrate the Feast of St. Francis, a powerful intercessor for us. He continually seeks to aid us through his prayers and example, especially his love of Creation. We are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful place where nature is always so apparent to us. To celebrate Francis we will have the Blessing of Animals on Sunday, October 5 (Francis’ feast is Oct. 4) at 2 pm in our parish parking lot in Whitney Point. Bring your animals for this blessing and for some fun fellowship. Any and all animals are welcome to come and honor Christ, through the intercession of St. Francis.

May God bless us and may Mary keep us always in His love!
