From Our Pastor:

The Diocesan Synod. It’s a fact, that we are a small segment of the diocesan church, the US Catholic Church, and the Church Universal. Yet, we are NOT an insignificant part! God is at work in all of you.

Recognizing this, the church invites all of us to the “synod” being held throughout the world. What’s the synod? It’s a two-year “journey” within the Church to meet, reflect and plan on the ongoing call to listen, hear and act in responding to the mission of the Church and fulfilling God’s Will as revealed to us.

Our diocesan journey of the Synod will begin Sunday, October 17, 2021, with Mass at the Cathedral. All are invited! Regional sessions will be held throughout the duration of the synod and Bishop Lucia invites us all to participate in several ways; not least of which, is to pray for its success.

Watch for information about the Synod in our diocesan paper, the diocesan webpage, and through our parish bulletin, and join in where and when you can. God is listening!
