From Our Pastor:

Brothers and sisters, this week we learned of the passing of three wonderful ministers in our diocese; Fr Guy Baccaro, Sr. Mary Rose Noonan, CSJ, and Sr. Lois Barton, CSJ. May they all Rest In Peace and be rewarded for their earthly ministry and holiness.

In our loss, we might reflect on our duty to replace our priests and religious lost to death and old age. Where are new ministers going to come from? Our homes, families, parishes. Nowhere else!

Do we encourage our children to consider and discern a religious vocation? Or do laugh such a notion off!

Are vocations to the priesthood and consecrated life the object of our personal prayer? Do we support our Diocesan Seminarians?

It will be too late when there are no ministers to keep all our parishes, schools, hospitals. We won’t be able to say, “I didn’t know!”

We mourn our recent losses. But let us also commit ourselves to cooperate with God, continuing to call for more ministers and workers for the harvest.

May God bless us and may Mary keep us always in His love!

Fr. Corey
