Brothers and Sisters:
I pray that the graces of your Easter celebration are still with you! I’m very grateful to Fr. Tassini for his presence and ministry in these past Holy Days.
Our celebration of our Redemption continues throughout the next 5 weeks until the Feast of Pentecost. And on this Second Sunday of Easter we are reminded of God’s mercy always. In our Gospel, we witness the forgiveness of Thomas the Apostle who denied the faith in Christ’s’ Resurrection. His stubbornness got in the way of him witnessing to Christ. But because of Christ’s love for him, he had mercy and again offered him the chance to witness the wounds and to realize what they represented, the saving act of redemption, death and resurrection!
We too, often need another chance to embrace what we know to be true; that God loves us, always shows mercy and forgives us. And so too, must we be merciful and forgiving always. May the Eucharist that feeds us give us the strength to attain this great calling always.
May God bless us and may Mary keep us always in His love!
