The Readings from Scripture this weekend speak to us about the banquet feast. Isaiah tells us about the heavenly feast where God will take care of His People. On that day, the Lord will destroy death forever. Isaiah paints the picture of God providing a great feast of all the best foods and choicest wines. God is truly providing for His People in Isaiahโs vision. In the Gospel, Jesus tells us the story about a man who had a banquet for His son and invited everyone. Many people had different excuses why they could not attend, but then all are invited and the hall is filled with guests. These readings speak to us about Eucharist. It is here that God provides a feast for His People. It is here that God speaks to us and we are nourished to go forth and be His witnesses in the world. It is here that we are changed into the Body of Christ for the world. Let us take some time this week to reflect upon this great gift that the Lord has given to us.
