While many of us are still upset about the amount of money agreed to in the settlement with the victims of the Sexual Abuse Crisis, the amount of money pales in the light of the pain and damage that was inflicted upon the members of our Catholic Community. We are all called to continue to keep the victims in prayer and ask God for healing for them. While the financial contribution to the settlement will be a challenge and difficult for our parish family, our focus needs to be upon the victims and their healing. The Diocese of Syracuse has worked to implement changes to insure that the abuse never happens again. We have made a strong commitment to the protection of all Godโs People and we are all called to work to protect Godโs People and the most vulnerable among us. I would like to thank everyone for their support and prayers during this difficult time for the Church.
Our Parish Picnic will take place on Sunday, September 10th, at Dorchester Park. We will have ONE MASS that day at St. Patrickโs Church in Whitney Point at 11:00 AM. This is always a wonderful event for our parish family to get together and to enjoy a late summer day. Mark your calendars now for this special day.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!
