This Sunday we celebrate Gaudete or Joyful Sunday. We are called to be joyful in the midst of our Advent preparations for Christmas since our Lord Jesus is near to us. We are called to rejoice because โ€œthe Glory of the Lordโ€ will be shown to us. How many times do we recognize the Glory of the Lord as it is shown to us on a daily basis? We get so caught up in the busyness of life that we fail to recognize our God as He reveals Himself to us. Let us take some time this week to ask the Lord to open our eyes to recognize Him as He comes to us.

This Monday evening we will have our Advent Penance Service at 6:30 PM. It is a time for us to meet the Lord Jesus in a special way in the healing sacrament of His mercy and forgiveness. Many local priests will be here to celebrate Godโ€™s mercy with us. I hope that ALL MEMBERS of our St. Stephen St. Patrick Parish family will take advantage of this great opportunity. I would especially like to encourage and invite ALL FAMILIES to attend this wonderful grace-filled celebration. HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
