In this weekendโ€™s Gospel, we see two disciples of Jesus walking to Emmaus on Easter night. We see them as saddened and confused as they have just experienced the passion and death of our Lord Jesus. A stranger approaches them and begins to walk and talk with them. They share their story with the stranger and eventually realize that the stranger is Jesus. They recognized Him in the breaking of the bread. How many times do we journey with others and share our stories? Many times we share our struggles and pain with others and it seems to help us. Our Lord Jesus is with us as well, even though we do not recognize Him. He opens our eyes, as He did the disciples, in the Breaking of the Bread, the Eucharist. It is at Mass that Jesus reveals Himself to us in His Word, People, and in His Real Presence in Holy Communion. May He open our eyes this week and every time we attend Mass to recognize Him present.
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!!!!
