Wondering about the Bells?

Some parishioners have asked why we no longer use bells at the Consecration during the Mass. The bells were used when the Mass was in Latin and the vast majority of people did not understand the language of Latin. So the bells were used to let them know that they were at a solemn moment. The Mass is now in the vernacular, so everybody understands what is being said as they participate in the prayers of the Mass.
