This weekendโ€™s readings from Sacred Scripture speak to us about thirst. The Israelites were in the desert and thirsty for water. We see how God provides water for them through His servant Moses. In the Gospel Reading,

we see Jesus approaching a woman from Samaria because he was thirsty and wanted a drink of water. Little did the woman know that it was not Jesus who was thirsty for water, but her who was thirsty for God. She needed the mercy and forgiveness of God in her life. She had that personal encounter with Jesus that changed her life and the life of the Samaritan village.
This weekend and every time we attend Mass, we have a personal encounter with our Lord Jesus. It is Jesus who is here as we listen to Godโ€™s Word, gather as His People and are nourished with His Body and Blood in the Eucharist. Jesus satisfies all the hunger and thirst that we have in our lives. Just as He changed the life of the Samaritan woman, Jesus wants to change our lives as well. He wants to provide us with the living water of His Holy Spirit. May we be open and grateful for this gift this day!
HAVE A GREAT WEEK!
